WE'VE GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN OUR HANDS
by Selia Qynn, 9/2/91

We've got the whole world in our hands.
We all are players in the band.
A host of hopeful harmonies sing out across the land.
Singing we are all family,
Bird in sky and fish in sea,
Seed in ground and tall oak tree,
And every grain of sand.

He's got the whole world in His hands, you know.
You and me brother, we're just part of the show.
Life is bigger than we know and
He holds it in His hands.

But the eco-system's going broke.
Greedy hands around Nature's throat.
When the white swan sings her final note,
You can't bring her back again.

We stole our Mother from His tender care,
Soiled the ground and fouled the air.
Now we hand it back as we say a prayer
To save her from our hands.

We've got the whole world in our hands.
We all are players in the band.
A host of hopeful harmonies sing out across the land.
Singing we are all family,
Bird in sky and fish in sea,
Seed in ground and tall oak tree,
And every grain of sand.

He put the little bitty babies in our hands to learn,
That what we sow is what they earn.
When they grow up and its their turn,
They'll pass it on again.

When all is said and all is done,
The human race cannot be won.
It's not if you win, but how you run,
That matters in the end.

Let me tell you children, it's a disgrace,
To run over your brother just to win the race.
The world would be a better place to extend a helping hand.

We've got the whole world in our hands.
We all are players in the band.
A host of hopeful harmonies sing out across the land.
Singing we are all family,
Bird in sky and fish in sea,
Seed in ground and tall oak tree,
And every grain of sand.

No matter how different our beliefs,
We're all connected underneath.
The bond is Love that we must reach,
In the family of man.

Let's you and me brother, show our sons
And daughters how we all are one,
With all that lives under the sun,
Because the whole world's in his hands.
